AusNet Services Ltd engages in energy delivery services business in Australia. The company operates through Electricity Distribution, Gas Distribution, Electricity Transmission, and Commercial Energy Services segments. The Electricity Distribution segment carries electricity from the high voltage transmission network to end users in eastern Victoria. The Gas Distribution segment carries natural gas to commercial and residential end users in central and western Victoria. The Electricity Transmission segment owns and manages an electricity transmission network, including transmission lines and towers, which carry electricity at high voltages from power generators to electricity distributors in Victoria. The Commercial Energy Services segment provides contracted infrastructure, metering, and asset intelligence services, as well as telecommunication solutions. It primarily serves customers operating in utility, renewables, and infrastructure sectors of electricity, water, gas, and rail. The company operates through an electricity distribution network of 60 zone substations and approximately 383,000 power poles serving 722,000 customers; an approximately 6,600 kilometers of transmission line, 53 terminal stations and switchyards, and 13,000 towers; and a gas distribution network of 11,400 kilometers serving 692,000 customers. The company was formerly known as SP AusNet Ltd. and changed its name to AusNet Services Ltd in August 2014. AusNet Services Ltd is headquartered in Southbank, Australia.
