Industrias Peñoles, S.A.B. de C.V., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the exploration, extraction, and sale of mineral concentrates and ores in Mexico and internationally. It operates through Precious Metals, Base Metals, Metallurgical, and Other segments. The company is also involved in the smelting and refining of non-ferrous metals. It primarily explores for gold, silver, lead, zinc, copper, and bismuth deposits. The company's principal exploration projects in Mexico include Humos, La Industria, Juanicipio, Centauro Profundo, and Orysivo, as well as Racaycocha in Peru; and mining projects, such as Velardeña, Madero, Bismark, Tizapa, Fresnillo, Sabinas, Milpillas, and La Herradura. In addition, it produces and sells chemical products, primarily sodium sulfate, as well as copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, and antimony trioxide; provides services under government concessions related to water treatment and rail transportation; and offers administrative and operating support services. The company was founded in 1887 and is headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico.
