Berkshire Bancorp Inc. is a bank holding company. The Company's principal activity is the ownership and management of its subsidiary, The Berkshire Bank (the Bank), which is a New York State chartered commercial bank. The Bank provides services to high net worth individuals, and to small and mid-sized commercial businesses primarily in the New York City metropolitan area. It has approximately two branches in Manhattan; over four branches in Brooklyn, New York; approximately four branches in Orange and Sullivan Countries in New York State, and a branch in Teaneck, New Jersey. It provides personal services and business services. It offers a range of loan products, which include commercial and industrial and finance leases; loans secured by real estate, including residential loans, multi-family loans, and commercial real estate and construction loans, and consumer loans. Its investment portfolio includes its available-for-sale securities and held-to-maturity securities.
